For this task, I decided to use the Centralops Traceroute function.

Before commencing this task, I visited the suggested reading about How Routers Work.

Having not read the instructions correctly, I clicked go without changing the 'To" field. I then reread the text and placed the required curtin.edu.au in the "To" field.

Following this, I received 21 "hops" with an average time of 255ms.

Next, I was required to find out the host IP number for curtin.edu.au. It is 134.7.179.53.

As with the first task, I was required to record the number of hops and the average time it took to ping the webct.curtin.edu.au site. The results were 21 hops with an average time of 253ms.

The results for ther webct.curtin.edu.au were comparable with the ping that I had previously completed with the curtin.edu.au
